Budget carrier SpiceJet, which triggered a low-fare war in the market early this year, came out with another promotional all-inclusive ticket offer starting from Rs. 2,999 for a one-way journey on domestic routes, primarily from tier-II cities.
The three-day offer, for which bookings started today, is valid for travel between July 6 and March 28 next year and will be applicable for all via and onward connection flights, SpiceJet said in a release.
The scheme aims at stimulating traffic from the tier-II cities.
The Kalanithi Maran-promoted carrier has been on a promotional and discounted fare spree since January this year, when it reduced ticket prices by up to 50% immediately after the lean travel season set in.
Last week, IndiGo, too, had announced promotional fares for just Re 1 on Bangalore, Chennai and Goa routes, taking on the competition thrown by AirAsia India's offer of Rs. 5 fare (excluding airport tax and other applicable fees) offer and putting on sale over 15,000 promotional seats with immediate bookings.
